Hintergschwendt (Chiemgau) is beautifully located at 1000 m altitude in a valley facing the Kampenwand. The towns of Aschau (im Chiemgau) and Bernau (am Chiemsee) are nearby (about 5 miles away). Both towns have a highway exit (from the German Autobahn A8: "München" - "Salzburg") and a railway station (see www.bahn.de), so that you can conveniently reach the Gschwendtnerhof.
The Chiemgau area is well-known for its recreation facilities in summer and in winter, not only because of the Chiemsee and the Kampenwand.
The Gschwendtnerhof (Hintergschwendt 8, D-83229 Aschau in the Chiemgau) is built in traditional Bavarian style. It is located in a valley with a splendid view on the surrounding mountains. The holiday apartment house offers a sauna and a community room with table tennis and other facilities.
The Gschwendtnerhof building also hosts the Gschwendtnerhof Stubīn, an excellent location to taste authentic Bavarian food and beer!
