Hintergschwendt (Chiemgau) is beautifully located at 1000 m altitude in a valley facing the Kampenwand. The towns of Aschau (im Chiemgau) and Bernau (am Chiemsee) are nearby (about 5 miles away). Both towns have a highway exit (from the German Autobahn A8: "München" - "Salzburg") and a railway station (see www.bahn.de), so that you can conveniently reach the Gschwendtnerhof.
The Chiemgau area is well-known for its recreation facilities in summer time and in winter time, not only because of the Chiemsee and the Kampenwand.
The Gschwendtnerhof (Hintergschwendt 8, D-83229 Aschau in the Chiemgau) was built in traditional Bavarian style. It is located in a valley with a splendid view on the surrounding mountains. The holiday apartment house offers a sauna and a community room with table tennis and other facilities.
The Gschwendtnerhof building also hosts the Gschwendtnerhof Stubīn and in walkable distance is the Seiserhof, another excellent location to taste authentic Bavarian food and beer!
